Toledo Shooting for Seventh Win in Row on Saturday at Marshall

12/7/2018 12:11:00 PM

TOLEDO, Ohio - Toledo (8-1) brings its six-game winning streak on the road when it travels to Huntington, W. Va. on Saturday, Dec. 8 to take on Marshall (5-3). The Rockets will be looking to avenge two gut-wrenching defeats over the last two seasons to the Thundering Herd.

UT dropped a 93-87 home decision to Marshall last year after suffering a 111-105 (OT) road defeat in 2016.

Toledo concluded a three-game homestand on Wednesday with a dominating 101-57 victory over Detroit Mercy. UT excelled in all facets of the game by registering a 51.6 FG%, tying a season high with 14 three-pointers, converting 21-of-23 free-throw attempts, dishing out a season-high 27 assists, controlling the boards by a 54-29 margin, and limiting the Titans to a 31.9 percent shooting mark. In addition, Detroit's 57 points were a season low for a Rocket opponent.

Senior Nate Navigato paced a balanced UT scoring attack with 19 points, to go along with a team-high six assists and five rebounds. Junior Willie Jackson spearheaded Toledo's domination of the glass with 15 rebounds (one shy of his career best), to go along with 11 points for his sixth double-double of the season.

Marshall is 4-0 at home this season but will be looking to bounce back from road defeats at Ohio (101-84) on Saturday and Duquesne (93-82) on Wednesday. The senior backcourt tandem of Jon Elmore (20.3 ppg) and C.J. Burks (19.8 ppg) lead the Thundering Herd attack. Elmore is averaging 30.0 ppg in two contests vs. the Rockets.
