TOLEDO, Ohio - Toledo (7-1) wraps up its three-game homestand in Savage Arena on Wednesday, Dec. 5 with a matchup vs. Detroit Mercy (3-5). The Rockets bring a five-game win streak into the contest following Saturday's 80-67 victory over Cleveland State.
       UT committed a season-low four turnovers — its fewest since Jan. 6, 2015 — and forced the Vikings into 19 miscues. That more than made up for the Rockets' 38.7 shooting mark and season-low 23.5 three-point FG%.
       Jaelan Sanford topped four Rockets in double figures with 20 points to go along with six rebounds and four assists. He was joined in double digits by Nate Navigato (19 pts.), Willie Jackson (16 pts.) and Chris Darrington (13 pts.). Jackson led UT on the boards with a game-high 11 caroms for his fifth double-double of the season.
       Detroit Mercy is 2-3 vs. Mid-American Conference schools this season and has dropped its last two contests at home to Kent State (76-72) and on the road vs. Akron (71-59). The Titans will play at Dayton on Tuesday evening prior to facing the Rockets.
       Freshman Antoine Davis ranks second in the nation in scoring with 29.6 ppg and has a 46.9 three-point FG%. He is the son of first-year Head Coach Mike Davis, who has previously coached at Indiana (2000-06), UAB (2006-12) and Texas Southern (2012-18).

•  Toledo's 7-1 start is its best since winning its first 12 games in 2013-14 season.
•  UT ranks 16th nationally (as of Dec. 2) with its 77.6 FT%. The Rockets also rank in the Top 30 nationally in winning percentage (.875/15th), 3PTFGs per game (10.0/27th), 3PTFG% (40.0/29th) and assists per game (17.4/30th).
•  UT leads the MAC in FT% (77.6) and 3PTFG% (43.4) and is third in FG% (47.6).
•  Jaelan Sanford has scored in double digits and connected for a three-point field goal in each of UT's first eight games. Sanford ranks fifth and sixth in the MAC with an 82.6 FT% and 18.3 ppg, respectively. The Evansville, Ind. native ranks 14th on UT's all-time scoring list with 1,422 points.
•  Nate Navigato ranks second in the MAC and is 15th nationally with a 53.2 three-point FG%. He also ranks second in the MAC with 3.1 treys per game
•  Navigato paced the MAC last year with 2.8 treys/game and was second with a 42.7 3PTFG%.
•  Willie Jackson is tied for ninth nationally with five double-doubles and has nine in 28 career games as a Rocket. Jackson ranks third in the MAC with 9.9 rpg and sixth with a 58.7 FG%.
•  Three Rockets rank in the MAC's Top 10 in 3PTFG% — Nate Navigato (53.2/2nd), Luke Knapke (47.8/6th) and Chris Darrington (46.2/8th).
•  Marreon Jackson is tied for second in the MAC with 5.4 assists per game.

•  Luke Knapke ranks third in the MAC with an 85.0 FT% (17-of-20), sixth with a 47.8 three-point FG% (11-of-23) and 11th with a 57.6 FG%. Knapke scored a career-best 20 points at Wright State (Nov. 14) thanks to a 6-of-6 effort behind the three-point arc.
•  Chris Darrington comes off the bench with a 10.0 scoring mark and is one of five Rockets scoring in double digits. Darrington has a 46.2 three-point FG% (12-of-26) and an 80.0 FT%. He leads the Rockets in free throws made (28) and free throws attempted (35).
SOME TEAM STATISTICAL TIDBITS
•  Toledo has not allowed more than 70 points in five straight games, the first time it has done so since a six-game streak from Jan. 21-Feb. 7, 2015.
•  Toledo has six different players shooting 76.9 percent or better from the free-throw line with each of those individuals making at least eight trips to the charity stripe.
•  Toledo is 8-2 in games decided by five points or less since the start of last season.
•  Five of UT's seven wins have been by 11 points or more. The Rockets' scoring margin of plus-14.2 ranks third in the MAC.
•  Toledo is undefeated in its six games that it has outrebounded its opponent.
•  Four or more Rockets have scored in double digits in seven of eight games.
•  UT has shot 75.0 percent or better from the free-throw line in six of eight games.
•  At least five different Rockets have connected on three-point field goals in six of eight games. The only times that didn't occur was vs. Wilberforce (Nov. 10) and Cleveland State (Dec. 1).
•  UT registered a season-high 10 steals vs. Cleveland State with eight different Rockets registering a theft.
•  Toledo was outrebounded by a 42-38 margin by the Vikings, marking just the second time this season UT has lost the battle of the boards.

LAST YEAR VS. DETROIT MERCY
       Tre'Shaun Fletcher hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer to lift Toledo to a dramatic 89-86 victory at Detroit Mercy (4-5). Jaelan Sanford poured in a team-high 23 points to lead a balanced Rocket attack that saw five players tally double-digit point totals. Fletcher finished with 16 points and a game-high 15 rebounds. Luke Knapke (15 pts.), Marreon Jackson (14 pts.) and Nate Navigato (10 pts.) were also in double figures for UT.
       Fletcher's work on the boards helped UT to a dominating 44-32 advantage on the glass. He also dished out six assists to match Sanford for team-high honors as UT collected 20 helpers.
       Junior guard Josh McFolley led Detroit with 24 points.
       Toledo shot 49.2 percent in the contest, including an impressive 44.0 percent (11-of-25) from behind the arc. Detroit posted a 47.1 shooting mark and was 10-of-23 (43.5 percent) from three-point range.
DEFENSE! DEFENSE!
       Toledo ranks in the top three of the Mid-American Conference in each of the three primary defensive categories. The Rockets are second in scoring defense (67.5) as well as third in three-point FG% defense (29.4) and field-goal percentage defense (40.8).
       UT has held each of its last five opponents to six three-point field goals or less and a 25.7 3PTFG% (25-of-97).      Â
