Toledo Remains in Third Place Following Second Day at MAC Championships

NASHPORT, Ohio – After a four-plus hour weather delay, Toledo remains in third place following Saturday's third round of the 2017 Mid-American Conference Men's Golf Championships. The 72-hole event is being played at The Virtues Golf Club (Par-72, 7,243 Yards).
Kent State leads the nine-team field with a 54-hole score of four-under par 860 (287-288-285), followed by Ball State at 12-over par 876 (294-288-294) and the Rockets at 20-over par 884 (289-300-295).
Junior co-captain Colin Joseph continues to pace UT at four-under par 212 (74-69-69) to sit alone in fourth place. The Loveland, OH native recorded a team-high five birdies over the course of today's 18 holes and is just one of six golfers to be under par at the league's premier event.
Freshman Joe Bryce is tied for 11th place at four-over par 220 (70-74-76), followed by classmate Thomas Thurloway who is tied for the 26th spot at 11-over par 227 (76-72-76).
Sophomore Spencer Shoemaker (73-78-81) is 16-over par 232 (73-78-81) to stand tied for 37th place, while junior co-captain Stephen Watts is tied for 40th spot at 18-over par 234 (78-82-74). Â
Individually, Miami's Patrick Flavin is the leader in the clubhouse at nine-under par 207 (69-71-67), two shots ahead of Kent State's Gisli Sveinbergsson at seven-under par 209 (68-70-71). The first-place Golden Flashes currently have three individuals in the Top 10 to help them build a 16-stroke advantage over the Cardinals.
Toledo will play tomorrow's fourth and final round with KSU and BSU. UT's tee times will be 9:25 a.m.,9:35 a.m., 9:45 a.m., 9:50 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
