Solomon Petrie leads way in individual standings
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Redshirt junior Mason Deal shot an even-par 71 to lead the Toledo men's golf team in Tuesday's final round of the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial. The tournament was played at the par-71, 7,116-yard Birdwood Golf Course.
Host No. 2 Virginia captured the tournament title with an impressive 39-under par score. Also finishing at 20-under par or better were No. 25 Florida State (-26), No. 45 SMU (-23) and No. 14 Tennessee (-20). The Cavaliers' Paul Chang and the Mustangs' William Sides shared medalist honors at 16-under par.
Deal tallied five birdies today after registering a bogey and double-bogey on his first two holes. Junior Solomon Petrie topped Toledo in the individual standings at five-over par.
Toledo will be back in action this weekend when it travels to Bloomington, Ind. for Indiana's Hoosier Collegiate on Saturday-Sunday, April 18-19.
