Rockets Finish Spring Trip With Three Games at Florida Atlantic

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Toledo completes its spring break trip with a three-game series at Florida Atlantic starting on Friday, March 10 and concluding on Sunday, March 12. All three games will be played at the FAU Baseball Stadium.
The Rockets (1-12) have lost seven-straight games, including a three-game sweep at South Florida and a pair of losses in the Snowbird Classic during the spring trip. Toledo's lone win of the season came against Richmond in the University of Richmond Tournament on Feb. 24.
UT is led by four players; AJ Montoya, Matt Hansen, Dalton Bollinger and Ross Adolph, who all have 13 hits on the season. Each of the four listed are hitting between .250 and .271. Malave Bettinger leads the team in average at .318.
Toledo will run out the trio of senior starting pitchers of Steven Calhoun, Ross Achter and Sam Shutes. Calhoun leads the group with a 2.25 ERA in 16.0 innings. Achter recorded the win against Richmond and tops the staff with 17 strikeouts.
Florida Atlantic (8-4-1) has won its last three games and has outscored its opponent 39-11 in those contests. FAU won Conference USA last season and was eliminated in the NCAA Tournament regionals by the University of Miami.
The Owls are led by Tyler Frank and Gary Mattis who are hitting .450 and .431 on the season, respectively. Jake Miednik leads the pitching staff with a 3.86 ERA and a pair of wins in 18.2 innings.
The Rockets will travel to the University of Illinois Tournament for a pair of games against Illinois and two more against Southern Illinois From March 17 - March 19.
