Honolulu, HI – Toledo (9-16) split its twinbill on the third day of Hawaii's Outrigger Spring Fling Tournament. UT opened the day winning a back-and-forth battle vs. Marist (9-5), 5-3, in its first ever matchup against the Red Foxes. The Rockets then fell to UH (13-9), 8-1, in the nightcap.

Samantha Showalter (2-for-3) each recorded two hits and an RBI vs. Marist. Rice also scored a run and swiped a bag.
Marist jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second when Ali Milam hit a solo blast to right-center off the first pitch. The Rockets had a chance to get on the board but couldn't capitalize on a bases-loaded situation in the bottom half of the inning.
The Rockets knotted the score in the third when Rice scored a run following a single up the middle by Showalter. Rice reached on a single, stole second and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by junior OF
Ashley Rausch.

Leah Allison in the top of the fourth. Allison hurled for 3.0 innings and allowed one run off two hits and a walk.
Toledo extended its lead in the fourth when junior
Kylie Gross crossed the plate off a single by junior
Courtney Heinritz. Gross had entered the game as a pinch-runner after freshman 3B
Samantha Golden was walked and then advanced to second off a sacrifice bunt by senior C
Ashley Maynard.
Marist quickly loaded the bases off three singles in the top of the fifth. The Red Fox scored a pair of runs on a single down the left-field line to take back the lead, 3-2. With two outs and runners on first and third, sophomore
Heather Webb replaced Noble (1.2 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 2 K) in the circle. Webb ended the frame by retiring the first batter she faced.
The Rockets exploded with three runs in the sixth inning to take the lead and seal in the win. Sophomore 3B
Katie Cozy scored Maynard off an RBI double to right-center to tie the score, 3-3. Heinritz entered to pinch-run for Cozy and put UT ahead with a run scored off a single by freshman

Megan Choate. Choate re-entered the contest and plated Toledo's final run off an RBI single by Rice.
Webb (4-6) registered the win for UT after not allowing a hit or run in 2.1 innings.

Tonight's loss marks the fourth time Hawaii has bested the Rockets in the past week. UH outhit Toledo, 17-4, in the contest, which is the most hits recorded by an opponent this season.
The home team jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first frame off a pair of home runs to center field.
Toledo got on the board in the third when Gross plated a run off a sacrifice bunt by Rausch. Gross had reached on a walk and advanced to second off Choate's sacrifice bunt.
The Rainbow Wahine extended their lead in the fifth with an RBI single and two-run shot to center field. UH plated its final two runs off a pair of singles in the sixth inning.
Webb replaced sophomore P
Kailey Minarchick in the home half of the sixth. Minarchick (3-5) was saddled with tonight's loss after allowing 14 hits and six earned runs in 5.0 frames.
