Honolulu, HI – Toledo split its doubleheader on its final day in Honolulu, HI. Toledo defeated Charleston Southern, 2-1, in the morning, before dropping the nightcap to No. 20 Utah, 17-1, in five innings. The Rockets will return to Toledo with an overall record of 10-17.

Today's win marks UT's fourth-straight victory over the Bucs since being in Hawaii. Head Coach
Kristen Butler, who was an assistant coach at CSU for two seasons prior to coming to Toledo, now has a 5-0 ledger over Charleston Southern. The Rockets defeated the Bucs once in 2015.

Charleston Southern's Stephanie Bergmann answered back with a solo home run to right field to even the score at one run apiece.

After three scoreless innings, the Rockets kept the Bucs from scoring with a 4-6-3 double play and a pop up to second base.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Midnight Blue & Gold loaded the bases off a single by junior OF
Ashley Rausch, a CSU error and an intentional walk. Rausch scored the go-ahead run off of a single up the middle by senior C
Ashley Maynard.

Sophomore
Heather Webb (5-6) recorded the win for UT after throwing for her third complete game. Webb retired four batters and only allowed two hits in the contest.

Utah 17, Toledo 1
Utah jumped into a 2-0 lead off a sacrifice fly and an RBI double in the second inning.

Cozy put the Rockets on the board in the third with a double to left center that scored sophomore
Samantha Showalter and brought the Rockets within one.

The Utes busted the game open with a 13-run fourth inning. Freshman
Leah Allison relieved starter
Kailey Minarchick (3-5) after 3.1 innings. Minarchick was saddled with the loss after allowing 11 runs on 12 hits. She re-entered the game in the same inning but was replaced by freshman
Alissa Noble at the top of the fifth. Noble faced five Redhawks before being relieved by Webb who finished the game for UT. Utah tacked on its final two runs in the fifth frame.

Freshman 1B
Morgan Paaverud hit her first collegiate home run bottom of the fifth. Paaverud's two-run bomb also scored Rausch who had reached on a single through the left side.

UT will next venture to Illinois on March 17-19 for SIU Edwardsville's tournament where it will compete against Northern Kentucky, 2016 NCAA Tournament team Butler and host SIUE before wrapping up its 33-game non-conference slate with a doubleheader at Fort Wayne on March 22.
