Boca Raton, FL – Toledo (1-8) fell twice on the second day of FAU's Strike Out Cancer tournament. The Rockets dropped their first game to Syracuse, 8-0, despite recording seven hits in the contest. UT then dropped a 4-3 decision to St. John's on a walk-off single in the nightcap.

Heather Webb (1-2) was saddled with the loss after allowing three runs on four hits and two walks.

Syracuse began its scoring in the opening frame on an RBI triple to left field. The Orange then added two more on a pair of singles in the third inning.

Freshman
Leah Allison entered the game in the fourth to relieve Webb. Â The 'Cuse plated a run in the fifth on a wild pitch and scored its last marker off of an RBI single up the middle.

Game 2 vs. St. John's (L, 4-3)
"We fought hard today and we hit the ball well," said Head Coach
Kristen Butler. "We need to do a better time of closing out games and coming through with clutch hits. Our pitching is improving but we need to focus on the little things that will help us get the win."
The Rockets got on the board in the opening inning when senior OF
Celeste Fidge singled to the shortstop, which allowed Rice to plate a run. Rice had reached on a single, stole second and advanced to third on a St. John's error.

Toledo added another run in the second frame. Junior OF
Ashley Rausch reached first base on a single up the middle, advanced to third on a Red Storm error and scored a run on a second SJU error.

SJU knotted the score at two runs apiece on a sacrifice fly to right field and a Rocket error on a throw to home.

Freshman
Courtney Heinritz entered the game in the sixth to pinch-run for Gross. Heinritz ripped her first triple of the season down the right-field line and scored on a sacrifice bunt by Rausch.

The Red Storm tied the score again on a sacrifice fly to center field in the home half of the inning.

Cozy hit a double off the wall in the seventh and freshman
Maddie Emery entered the game as a pinch-runner. Emery advanced to third on an out at first but was unable to score a run before SJU recorded its third out.

Freshman
Alissa Noble (0-3) entered the contest in the bottom of the seventh to relieve Minarchick and took the loss. The Red Storm ended the contest with an RBI single up the middle.

Toledo will play in its final game tomorrow at 11:15 a.m. vs. Savannah State.
