Cedar Falls, IA – Toledo (0-3) dropped both games on the second day of the UNI-Dome Classic. UT first fell to Wisconsin, 10-7, before dropping a 6-3 decision to South Dakota State in its second game of the day. Â

GAME 1
In game one, senior 2B
Chandler Rice went 2-for-3 at the plate with a homer and two RBI, while senior RF
Celeste Fidge went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Sophomore SS
Megan Choate (2-for-3) also recorded a multi-hit performance, while junior
Kylie Gross tallied a hit and two RBI.

The Rockets were the first to get on the board in the opening frame. Fidge reached on a double to center field and junior 1B
Samantha Showalter brought her home with a single to center field.

Toledo extended its lead, 3-0, in the third after Rice hit her first bomb of the season. Rice scored junior LF
Marriah Wise who had previously reached on a single to left field. Wisconsin's Stevens entered the game to pitch for Watts.

The Badgers broke through against UT with four runs scored on a fielder's choice, a walk and a single to center field to close out the fourth inning. Wisconsin did not let up its aggression on offense, plating five runs in the fifth and one in the sixth.

A late Toledo rally in the seventh frame came up just short. Showalter walked with the bases loaded forcing Choate across the plate. Rausch grounded out at first, which allowed Wise to plate a second run. The Rockets were able to score twice more on an RBI single by Gross and a Wisconsin error.

UT freshman
Alissa Noble (0-1) was saddled with the loss after allowing four earned runs on five hits in 2.1 innings.

GAME 2
Toledo was the first squad to strike again in its second game. Wise led off with a single and then stole both second and third. Fidge scored Wise on a single to center field to get UT on the board.

The two teams traded home runs in the next few innings. Choate recorded her second-career homer in the second frame. SDSU's Brittney Morse opened the fourth inning with a home run, but sophomore 3B
Katie Cozy answered back with one of her own.

The Jacks took the lead, 5-3, on a home run and two RBI in the fifth. Morse closed out the scoring with her second homer of the contest in the sixth frame.

Noble (1.2 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 2 K) registered her second loss of the day.
The Rockets close out the tournament tomorrow with a 9:00 a.m. ET contest vs. Montana and an 11:15 a.m. matchup against Nebraska-Omaha.
