Rockets Fall to Illinois- Chicago, 5-2

CHICAGO, IL – The Rockets fell to Illinois-Chicago, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon in its first match of the weekend. Toledo will head into tomorrow's match vs. Chicago State with a record of 0-2.
Toledo came out on top of the doubles action. The Rocket duo of junior Sidnay Huck and freshman Deedee Leenabanchong claimed a victory at No. 1 doubles for the second-straight match. Sophomore Claire Aleck paired up with freshman Mimi Kendall-Woseley to battle through a 7-5 win over UIC at the No. 2 spot.
Leenabanchong was the only Rocket to claim a singles victory over UIC. She defeated Melika LeBlanc, 7-5, 0-6, 6-4, at third singles.
Huck, Kendall-Woseley and junior Megan Miller all forced their matches into three sets after knotting up their scores with second-set victories.
The Rockets will return to the court tomorrow morning to battle the Cougars at 8:00 a.m.
