Toledo Finishes Seventh at Lady Buckeye Invitational

COLUMBUS, OH – Toledo concluded play at Ohio State's Lady Buckeye Invitational on Sunday with a seventh-place showing. The tournament was played on OSU's par-72, 6,319-yard Scarlet course and included seven teams ranked in the Top 75 of Golfstat's national rankings.

UT shot a 22-over par 310 in today's action to finish at 42-over par (299-297-310) over the 54 holes. The Rockets played shorthanded during the tournament after sophomore Napaphan Phongpaiboon was forced to withdraw due to illness. The tourney used a six-golfer, count-four scoring format instead of the traditional five-golfer, count-four scoring.

Toledo was led by the trio of senior Manisa Isavas (78-72-75), freshman Pimchanok Kawil (71-75-79) and senior Sathika Ruenreong (75-74-76) who each tied for 16th place at nine-over par 225. Freshman Natcha Daengpiem tied for 32nd place at 15-over par 231 (75-76-80, while freshman Caitriona Griffin tied for 62nd place at 29-over par 245 (80-81-84).

Redshirt freshman Hannah Kochendoerfer competed as an individual and finished 72nd at 45-over par 261 (92-85-84).

No. 14 Kent State repeated as the team champion with a final score of 14-over par 978. The Golden Flashes edged host and No. 43-ranked Ohio State and No. 57 Indiana by five strokes. The Hoosiers' Camille Chevalier captured medalist honors at three-under par 213 (75-70-68).

Toledo will now travel to Noblesville, IN for the 2016 Mid-American Conference Championships next weekend. The Rockets will begin play with 18 holes on Friday, April 22 with 18 holes also being played on Saturday, April 23 and Sunday, April 24.
