TOLEDO, OH – The Toledo women's tennis team downed Bowling Green, 6-1, in the Battle of I-75. The Rockets improve to 7-9 on the season and 1-2 in MAC play.

"When we play our rival, it's always an emotional battle just as much as a physical battle. I was proud of the way the team competed and I felt that we were mentally tough from top to bottom," said head coach

The Rockets nearly swept the board today, starting with doubles play.
Lauren Thai and
Megan Miller paired up at the No. 2 spot and walked away with a 6-4 victory.
Claire Aleck and
Rani Goodland posted a 6-0 sweep at No. 3.Â

In singles, O'Brien, Miller, Aleck and Thai all defeated their opponents in two-set matches, while Mazzola pulled off a three-set victory at No. 1.

The Rockets return to Shadow Valley Sunday, April 3, to host Miami at 1:00 p.m.
