Northridge, CA – Toledo suffered a loss on Day Two of the Matador Classic on Friday morning with a 5-2 defeat to San Diego. The Rockets fall to 4-15 overall.

Marla Gooding registered her eighth loss of the season after pitching 2.0 innings and allowing two earned runs, two walks and one strikeout.
San Diego collected two runs in the first inning and crossed the plate once in the second to take a 3-0 lead.
The Toreros plated two more runs in the sixth frame to give them a 5-0 advantage.
Toledo tried to rally in the seventh inning by putting runners on first and second. With two outs,
Chandler Rice hit an RBI double off the fence to score
Jessica Lemieux and Samantha Emery. The Rockets were unable to score any more runs the rest of the inning.
Toledo will get a rematch against Grand Canyon tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. PT before battling No. 24 Oregon State at 1:30 p.m. PT.
