Harrisonburg, VA – The Toledo softball team bounced back in its last game of the JMU Macado Invitational with a back-and-forth 9-6 victory over Binghamton. With the win, the Rockets improve to 2-10 on the season.

Marla Gooding (2-5) threw all seven innings and allowed four earned runs with two strikeouts to pick up the win for the Rockets.
Leading the way for the Rockets offensively was senior OF
Jessica Lemieux who went 2-for-4 with a triple, home run and a run scored. Junior
Chandler Rice (3-4), sophomore
Samantha Showalter (2-3) and sophomore
Kaitlyn Bergman (2-2) also had multi-hit performances.
Binghamton jumped ahead of the Rockets, scoring a run in the first inning and two in the second.
Lemieux tripled to right field in the bottom of the third to get the momentum going for Toledo. Bergman's RBI double scored Lemieux, Rice's single up the middle plated Bergman.
Ashley Maynard walked with the bases loaded to score Fidge to even the score 3-3.
Binghamton scored in the top of the fourth, and UT answered back with a run of its own to close out the inning.
The Bearcats fought back, scoring two runs in the fifth, but UT did the same to knot the score at six. After two quick outs, Rice singled and advanced to third on a throwing error and wild pitch. Rice wasted no time in stealing home to bring the Rockets within a run.
Kylie Gross pinch-ran for Maynard who had reached third on a throwing error. Gross scored on a wild pitch to tie the score at 6-6.
Binghamton relinquished its lead for good in the bottom of the sixth. Lemieux led off the frame with a solo blast and Showalter's two-run shot provided the Rockets their final margin of victory.
Toledo will next travel to California for to spring break tournaments and a doubleheader against UC Riverside (March 8). UT will take part in the SLO Cal Poly Mustang Classic from March 4-6 in San Luis Obispo and the Cal St. Northridge Tournament on March 10-13 in Northridge.
