TOLEDO, OH – Toledo stretched its winning streak to four-consecutive games with a 71-60 victory over Buffalo on Wednesday before 3,476 fans in Savage Arena. With the win, the Rockets improve to 13-9 overall, 8-3 in the Mid-American Conference.
Sophomore 
Jay-Ann Bravo-Harriott buried a season-high five triples and finished with a squad-best 19 points to propel UT to its 10th-straight home triumph against the Bulls (11-11, 3-8 MAC). Bravo-Harriott took the game over at the start of the third quarter, knocking down three treys in a span of less than two minutes to give the Midnight Blue & Gold a lead they would not relinquish.
Freshman 
Kaayla McIntyre added a season-tying best 15 points and six rebounds off the bench, while senior 
Brenae Harris nearly totaled the second triple-double in school history, totaling 10 points, a contest-high 10 boards and a game-best eight helpers. The Marion, OH native recorded the lone triple-double against Wright State in the first round of the 2015 Postseason WNIT (March 20). 
Toledo also received nine points from senior 
Ana Capotosto to record its seventh-straight home victory. 
As a team, the Rockets shot a respectable 44.2 percent (23-of-52) from the floor, including 43.8 percent (7-of-16) from three-point land, and 66.7 percent (18-of-27) from the charity stripe. 
UT also finished with a 37-33 edge on the glass and totaled more assists (16) than turnovers (14) for the 11th time in the last 16 games.
Joanna Smith paced UB with a game-high 20 points, followed by Stephanie Reid with 13 and Cassie Oursler chipped in 10, respectively. 
After yielding four straight points to start the game, the Rockets rattled off nine consecutive points to take a two-possession lead at the 5:20 mark. Four different players were credited with field goals during this stretch of three-plus minutes.
McIntyre capped the early burst with a layup and remained dialed in offensively for the remainder of the period, tallying two additional baskets to give the home team a 17-14 lead.
Smith scored UB's first 11 points in the second quarter to put the visitors in front, 25-24, with 5:29 remaining before intermission. The MAC Player of the Year candidate converted three three-point field goals and a deep jumper during this stretch to award the Bulls their first lead.
The teams traded baskets for the remainder of the opening 20 minutes, and Buffalo took a 29-28 lead into the intermission.
UT's Bravo-Harriott came out of halftime on a mission and knocked down three treys within the opening two-plus minutes to push the lead back in its favor for good, 39-32, at the 7:41 mark.
Capotosto fed off Bravo-Harriott's hot shooting, registering five-consecutive points to stretch the margin to 10 points, 44-34, with 4:50 left in the period. The two-time team captain knocked down a three-point field goal and a layup to make it a four-possession difference.
The Rockets' lead remained at least six points for the remainder of the stanza, as they took a 46-40 advantage into the final 10 minutes.
Bravo-Harriott converted her fifth triple to start the fourth quarter, followed by layups from redshirt freshman 
Mikaela Boyd and junior 
Janice Monakana to once again create a double-digit cushion, 57-47, with 4:17 remaining in regulation.
UT then put the finishing touches on the double-digit home victory with 11 free throws over the course of the final two minutes to set the final score at 71-60.
The Rockets will return to the hardwood on Saturday, Feb. 13 when they host reigning MAC regular-season and tournament champion Ohio (18-4, 10-1 MAC). The opening tip versus the Bobcats is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in Savage Arena and can be seen on ESPN3.
UT will also hold its eighth-annual "Rockets for the Cure" day in conjunction with Saturday's contest against the Bobcats. The MAC cross-division match-up will help benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Northwest Ohio and the Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center. The Rockets encourage everyone in attendance to wear pink in support of cancer research.
