Toledo Will Welcome Three Teams to Rocket Invitational this Weekend

TOLEDO, OH – The Toledo women's tennis team will hold its annual two-day Rocket Invitational this weekend on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 7-8 at the UT Varsity Tennis Courts. The Shadow Valley Tennis Club will serve as the rain site.

The Rockets will welcome Detroit, Saint Francis and Youngstown State to the Glass City for this year's tournament.

The tournament will be structured as a hidden-dual format with matches scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. both days. The team that wins a best-of-three singles or doubles matches will earn a point for their team.

Flight winners will be recognized at all six singles positions and all three doubles positions.

At last year's invitational, UT recorded three flight victories. Junior Sidnay Huck and former Rocket Emily Mazzola claimed the Flight 1 doubles title after posting an undefeated 3-0 record. Junior Megan Miller won the No. 6 flight while also going undefeated on the weekend. Junior Colleen O'Brien went 2-1 in singles play and secured the Flight 4 title.
