Isabella Barretto earns tiebreaker singles win on No. 2 court
BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Toledo women's tennis team fell to Mid-American Conference co-leader Buffalo, 6-1, on Friday afternoon.
The Rockets' (8-8, 3-2 MAC) lone point came via a singles win by freshman Isabella Barretto on the No. 2 court. Barretto picked up a 5-7, 6-4, 12-10 win for her third win of league play and eighth of the season. Buffalo (18-4, 5-0 MAC) clinched the match victory with a straight-set decision on the No. 5 court.
Barretto and Neha Guru combined for a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles, but the Bulls picked up wins on the No. 2 and 3 courts to earn the doubles point.
Quoting Head Coach Tracy Mauntler
"Credit to Buffalo as they played extremely well. They played like the defending MAC tournament champs today. We have a lot of work to do in the next few weeks."
