OXFORD, Ohio - The Toledo women's soccer team allowed an 84th minute goal to MAC East Division opponent Miami and fell to the RedHawks, 2-1, on Friday afternoon.Â
The Rockets (6-8-1, 1-5-1 MAC) were led by senior
Kiersten Johnson who scored her seventh goal of the season and fired a match-high seven shots and four shots on goal.
Miami (8-5-1, 5-1-1 MAC) took the lead in the 12th minute when Stephanie Dillon chipped her first goal of the season past Toledo's sophomore goalkeeper
Katie Wilson.Â
In the 52nd minute, junior
Regan Price played a long pass to a streaking Johnson who was able to win a footrace and put a shot into a vacant net.
With 5:53 remaining in regulation, the RedHawks' Bianca Medancic sealed the win with the match-winning goal.
Toledo and Miami each took 11 shots while Wilson made six saves in goal for the Midnight Blue and Gold.
The Rockets continue their road trip at Ball State on Sunday, Oct. 16 before returning home for two matches next weekend.
