Toledo Travels To Wright State for Non-Conference Match-up On Tuesday

The Rockets and Raiders contest is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Nischwitz Stadium and will be live on ESPN3.
The Rockets enter the contest on the upswing following a 2-1 series victory over Mid-American Conference foe Miami. The Midnight Blue & Gold battled back from a one game deficit and won the final two games of the series to clinch a spot in the 2015 MAC Tournament which begins on May 20 in Avon, OH.
Junior slugger Tyler Baar spearheaded the UT attack at the dish as the Jenison, MI native batted .545 (6-of-11) with three home runs, two doubles, five RBI and four runs scored. Baar was named the MAC West Division Player of the Week for his efforts against the RedHawks.
Overall this season, junior SS Deion Tansel leads UT with a .317 batting average while freshman OF A.J. Montoya powers the squad with a team-best 60 hits, 35 RBI, 15 doubles and seven homers. Fellow newcomer Dalton Bollinger trails just Tansel with a .316 batting average and is second on the team with a .410 slugging percentage.
Toledo head coach Cory Mee has tabbed freshman hurler Kyle Rago as the starter for Tuesday's game against the Raiders. Rago is 0-2 on the year with 16 game appearances. Rago sports a 6.68 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 33.2 innings of work this season.
The Rockets will be seeking a bit of revenge when they hit the diamond as Wright State has defeated UT twice already this season, outscoring Toledo 26-6. The Raiders enter the weekend with an overall record of 34-14 and are winners of four of their last five games.
Pacing WSU at the dish is senior Mark Fowler and sophomore Mitch Fowler, who are each batting .337 on the year. Fowler leads the team with 34 RBI while Fowler paces the squad with 70 hits. Junior OF Ryan Fucci provides the fireworks for the Raiders as he leads the team with 11 home runs.
Following Tuesday's night's contest at Wright State, the Rockets will wrap up their regular season with a three-game series at Eastern Michigan on Thursday-Saturday, May 14-16.Â
