Toledo third baseman takes first All-American nod of his career
TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo redshirt junior third baseman Troy Sudbrook was selected as an NCBWA Third-Team All-American, announced by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association of America on Wednesday.

Sudbrook earned the first All-American honor of his career and makes five All-American selections under Rob Reinstetle, adding to two for Chris Meyers in 2021 (Collegiate Baseball, ABCA/Rawlings) one for Jeron Williams in 2023 (ABCA/Rawlings) and one for Garret Pike in 2024 (ABCA/Rawlings). Sudbrook is the first player in program history to receive an All-American nod from the NCBWA.

In a career season, he slashed .373/.467/.665, totaling 88 hits, 71 RBIs, 65 runs, 32 doubles, 30 walks and 13 stolen bases. The 32 doubles tops NCAA Division I after Super Regional weekend. Sudbrook was top-three in the MAC in five different statistics, leading the league in doubles (32) and hits (88), while ranking second in RBIs (72) and OPS (1.132), and third in slugging percentage (.672). Sudbrook built up a team-leading 30 multi-hit games and 20 multi-RBI games, and finished the season with a 30-game on-base streak.

Additionally, Sudbrook broke the program single-season records for doubles and RBIs in a season, reaching the single-season doubles mark on April 24. Sudbrook was also third in single-season total bases (157), tied for fourth in a season in hits and was sixth in runs scored. Sudbrook was also third in career doubles (52) and RBIs (139) in program history at season's end.

Sudbrook added to a bevy of awards this season with the All-American nod. He was selected as ABCA/Rawlings First Team All-Region, First Team All-MAC, MAC All-Defensive Team and MAC All-Tournament Team this season. All honors marked the first of the Avon, Ohio native's career.

Additionally, Sudbrook was garnered as both CSC Academic All-District and Academic All-MAC. He advanced to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, to be determined later this month. He was selected among nine players in Division I for the Tony Gwynn Community Service Trophy 'Starting 9' and represented Toledo as a MAC Medal of Excellence recipient.
