Rockets to Host Bethune-Cookman on Saturday Evening

QUICK HITTERS
•    Toledo (6-4) looks to rebound from back-to-back defeats for the first time this season when it hosts the first of two Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference foes. The Rockets will entertain Bethune-Cookman (4-6) on Saturday, Dec. 19 followed by a matchup vs. North Carolina A&T on Monday, Dec. 21. Tip-off time for both contests is set for 7:00 p.m. with each being streamed live on ESPN3.
•    UT completed its final exams for the Fall Semester this week and won't return to classes until the Spring Semester begins Monday, Jan. 11.
•    Head Coach Tod Kowalczyk is in his sixth season at UT's helm and has orchestrated a dramatic turnaround since his arrival in 2010. He possesses a 91-82 (.526) record on the Rocket bench, including an 87-54 (.617) win-loss ledger over the last five years. 
•    Kowalczyk has guided Toledo to a share of the 2013-14 Mid-American Conference regular season title in addition to a piece of the 2012-13 MAC West Division title.
•    Senior Nathan Boothe tallied his fifth double-double (18 pts.-12 reb.) of the season in Saturday's setback to Oakland. Toledo shot a season-low 34.8 percent, including a 31.4 mark in the second half. The Rockets also took their most three-point shots vs. an NCAA Division I opponent with 30 attempts.
•    Boothe has been honored each of the past four weeks by the Mid-American Conference. He was named the MAC West Division Player of the Week on Nov. 23, Nov. 30 and Dec. 7 before received MAC Male-Scholar Athlete of the Week on Dec. 14.
•    Junior Jonathan Williams and Boothe are the Mid-American Conference's top two leading scorers with 19.5 and 19.1 ppg, respectively. Boothe also ranks second in the MAC with 9.5 rpg and fourth with a 2.2 assist/turnover ratio. Sophomore Stuckey Mosley is scoring in double digits as well at 11.9 ppg and ranks second on the team with 6.0 rpg and 3.8 apg.
•    Toledo ranks 13th nationally with its MAC-best 1.66 assist/turnover ratio, 19th for fewest turnovers per game (10.4) and 34th with 17.3 apg.
•    Bethune Cookman saw its six-game home winning streak end with Wednesday's 99-87 setback to The Citadel. The Wildcats' game at Toledo is their first of seven straight road contests.
•    Junior guard Jordan Potts tops Bethune-Cookman with 14.1 ppg, while senior forward Mario Moody is tallying 12.5 ppg and a team-best 8.6 rpg. Moody and junior forward LaRon Smith are both averaging an impressive 2.3 bpg.

ROCKET ROUNDUP FROM UT'S 76-64 LOSS TO OAKLAND
• Toledo's 12-point loss was its largest margin of defeat in Savage Arena since an 86-72 setback to Ball State on March 2, 2013.
• The Rockets shot a season-low 34.8 percent from the field, marking the first time since Feb. 9-13, 2013 (a span of 81 games) that UT has been held under 40 percent shooting from the field in back-to-back games.
• Toledo still leads its all-time series vs. Oakland by a 7-6 margin but the Rockets have dropped four of their last five meetings against the Golden Grizzlies.
• UT's 30 three-point field goal attempts were the most three-pointers taken by the Rockets vs. an NCAA Division I opponent this season.
• Toledo trailed at halftime for the first time this season.
• Senior Nathan Boothe tallied a team-high 10 rebounds and has led or shared the team lead in the rebounding department on a team-best eight occasions. Boothe also tallied a team-best 18 points for his fifth double-double of the season and sixth of his career.
• Junior Jonathan Williams was limited to a season-low 14 points and ranked second on the team with four assists.
• Sophomore Stuckey Mosley dished out a career-high six assists and grabbed five rebounds despite fouling out in 25 minutes.
• Freshman Nate Navigato notched his fourth double-digit outing of the season with 11 points and also grabbed a season-high six rebounds. Navigato came off the bench for the first time in his collegiate career and played 23 minutes.
.• Junior Zach Garber made his first collegiate start and registered six points and five rebounds in a career-high 25 minutes.

A LOOK AHEAD
    The Rockets continue their four-game homestand against North Carolina A&T on Monday, Dec. 21). UT will then take a break for the holidays and return to action against Northern Kentucky (Dec. 30) for its final non-conference matchup of the season.
