TOLEDO, OH – Toledo fell to Mid-American Conference foe Ball State (7-2-2, 3-0-0) Friday at Scott Park, 3-1. The loss puts the Rockets at 4-8-0 overall, and 0-3-0 in league play.
The Cardinals netted three markers, with two coming from Abigail Boswell. Toledo fought hard until the end of the match, and freshman
Italia Biondi found the back of the net for the second time this season with eight seconds remaining. The goal came off of a
Geri Siudzinski free kick from 45 yards out.
'We kept fighting hard until the end of the match," first-year head coach
TJ Buchholz said. "We had our chances but we couldn't find the back of the net until late in the contest."
UT earned eight shots on the night, but only three shots were on goal. Buchholz will keep the team focused on finding goals.
"We need to keep working on the little details," Buchholz said. "If we do the small things well, we will be successful. Offensively we need to keep working on getting goals."
The Midnight Blue & Gold will continue MAC play against Miami on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 1:00 p.m. The match has been designated Kids Club/Camper Day. All children will receive free admission with a Kids Club ID, and the team will also sign autographs after the game.
