This is the ninth in a series of articles highlighting contributors to the renovation of the
University of Toledo's Larimer Athletic Complex.
The University of Toledo football team is about more than just winning games. The Rockets want to help the community grow and leave a lasting impression that will shape the future of Toledo.
Alfagreen Supreme, the nation's leading supplier of dehydrated alfalfa products, shares that dream, and will help the Rockets accomplish their goal. The Toledo-based company has donated $25,000 to the newly renovated Larimer Athletic Complex toward the Physical Training and Therapy Room.
“It's exciting to know we are a part of seeding growth in our community and local university,” said Ty Vaupel, the Alfagreen Supreme sales and marketing manager. “Through the University's recognition and long-term relationship, we felt our gift to be mutually beneficial.”
Alfagreen Supreme is North America's largest dehydrated alfalfa processing company. Through their strategically located facilities throughout the United States, they produce and distribute dehydrated alfalfa products to specialty animal feed manufacturing companies.
Alfagreen has been a part of the city for over 50 years and their contributions to the Toledo area include donations to the renovation of Savage Arena and the sponsorship of local racecar driver Sam Hornish Jr.
“Alfagreen Supreme was originally formed in 1960 and we remain a business staple and a community ally,” Vaupel said. “Through our business success we strive to give back to the respective communities we conduct business within.”
Vaupel is a long-time season ticket and suite holder at UT football games. Last season, Vaupel and his father Ken were the honorary “12th man” at a Toledo game and had the chance to meet the players and coaches.
“Our relationship with the University of Toledo is something we value dearly,” Vaupel said. “We love to see the students succeed in and out of the classroom. We are proud to be a part of the UT family.”
“The University of Toledo appreciates everything Alfagreen Supreme has done over the years,” said senior associate athletic director Dave Nottke. “Ken, Ty, and the entire Alfagreen Supreme team have played an essential part in the growth of our athletic program.”
