Toledo in 14th Place Following Day One of Boilermaker Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, IN – Sophomore Thomas Shindler paced Toledo on Saturday at the Boilermaker Invitational and is tied for 20th place after carding a four-over par 148 (71-77).
Toledo is in 14th place in the team standings at 34-over par 610 (304-306) after playing without their stroke average leader, junior Chris Selfridge (neck).
Shindler matched his career low for the second-straight weekend with his opening-round one-under par 71. Two strokes behind Shindler was sophomore Otto Black tied for 32nd place at six-over par 150 (79-71), while junior Nate Gonring (T-40th/75-76=151) was within three strokes of the team lead.
Also competing for the Rockets were junior Jamie Richardson (T-78th/79-82=161) and sophomore Bobby Thomas (81st/82-84=166).
No. 9 Illinois leads the tournament with a five-over par 581, while Louisville is second at 10-over par 586. No. 14 UCLA is third at 12-over par 588 followed by Iowa (591) and seven more teams are within seven shots of the Hawkeyes.
The final 18 holes will tee off at 8:45 a.m., at the Kampen Course.
