Recap |  Final Stats |  Notes

Toledo Head Coach Stan Joplin (opening comment): "Well the one thing that we wanted to do is play for another day and that's what we did. We knew it was going to be a tough game, (Head Coach) Charles Ramsey has done a very nice job at Eastern Michigan. I have to tip my hat to him. Now we have a little bit of time to get ready for tomorrow night. I wish we were like the women and had a day in between (the MAC women's tournament) but we don't. I thought Eastern Michigan came up with some loose balls and we were a step slow, but then (Jonathan) Amos came in the game and gave us some energy."

(on responding to Eastern Michigan's quick start) "They (Eastern Michigan) were getting all of the loose balls and the hustle points, they were competing and I thought we were standing around watching and that was very disturbing. We looked really winded so that was a concern. But then when we put (Tyrone) Kent and (Jonathan) Amos in the game I thought that gave us more energy."

Sophomore guard Jonathan Amos (on providing energy off the bench): "I just came in and gave the team a lift. My job is to provide energy for the team, to get deflections, rebounds and get out on the break."

Senior guard Justin Ingram (on creating turnovers): "That is kind of a trademark of our team, to pressure their guards and try to get deflections. Coach (Stan) Joplin always tells us you might not get it the first or the second time but maybe the third of the fourth time you might get them to turn the ball over."

Eastern Michigan Quotes

Eastern Michigan Head Coach Charles Ramsey (opening comment): "I'd like to congratulate Toledo. Like I said before, they are the class of the conference and hopefully they will be able to go and finish up the season. They've had a great year to date."

(on his team's play): "I'm very proud of my guys. We battled. We fought. We did a lot of great things and I think we grew up a lot today. We got a taste of what we haven't had a taste of here at Eastern Michigan in a long time. That's what will really bode well in the future for us. They're going to be excited to get back to this point next year and hopefully advance in the future."

Freshman guard Devon Dumes (on playing against Toldeo's pressure defense): "It was difficult, but once we got our minds set that we were going to break it and declare a side, we started rolling."

Junior wing Jessie Bunkley (on Toledo's double-team against him): "I didn't move as well without the ball as I should have. They did a good job of closing up on me. I just need to learn from this for next year"

Junior wing Jessie Bunkley (on the season): I think we got a lot better from the beginning of the season to the end, but we're not satisfied at all. We want to come back and work hard so that we're in a better position for next year."
