Notes
Head Coach Stan Joplin
"We had ourselves in position to win the game but we didn't make the plays down the stretch. We needed to get some stops and get more rebounds. We could never get the lead and we had some opportunities to late in the game. We just didn't come up with the play we to down the stretch. A lot of games are going to be decided in the last one or two minutes and have to make sure we win our share of those."
(on getting over the loss to Kent)
"We have to get ready for our next game against Akron and protect our homecourt. Usually when we play at Kent they kill us. Tonight we came out and competed and in previous years we didn't do that."
(on not getting a defensive stop in the last two minutes)
"We just didn't get a stop and you have to make a tougher stand on the road. At home you can usually get a stop like they did but you have to be a little tougher on the road."
Senior guard Justin Ingram
(on the possession to tie at the end of the game)
"We were trying to get the ball to Kashif so he could come off a ball screen and go to a number of different options. But they were covering him and I tried to make a shot that I usually make. I have to knock that shot down. Then Tino had a pretty good look after getting the rebound but we came up short."
(on trying to win at the end)
"We were trying to gain control the whole game. When we tied it I thought we did but we couldn't get that one stop. We had a chance to send it to overtime but we have to find a way to get rebounds and get stops."
