MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) - Florentino Valencia scored 16 points off the bench and Ridley Johnson hit a putback lay-up at the buzzer to lead Toledo to a 66-64 win over Central Michigan on Saturday.
The Rockets (17-10, 10-8 Mid-American Conference) built a 64-51 lead over the Chippewas (4-23, 1-17) with 5:44 left. But a basket by Eddie Spencer with 33 seconds remaining capped a 13-0 run for the Chippewas and tied the game at 64.
Then Johnson's rebound and basket sealed the win for the Rockets after Justin Ingram missed an 8-foot jumper.
Johnson finished with eight points and four offensive rebounds. Keonta Howell added 14 for the Rockets and Ingram scored 11.
Giordan Watson led the Chippewas with 17 points, while Spencer added 12 and Jon Yeazel scored 10.
