TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Lance Moore caught a 43-yard touchdown pass and returned
a punt 89 yards for a score to lead Toledo to a 27-22 win over Central Michigan
on Saturday night.
Moore finished with nine catches for 110 yards. Bruce Gradkowski completed
28 of 41 passes for 329 yards, including the touchdown to Moore, and ran 7
yards for a score for the Rockets.
Toledo (6-2, 5-0 Mid-American Conference) remained tied with Northern
Illinois for first place in the MAC West Division with three games to play.
Kent Smith was 29-for-42 for 385 yards with two touchdowns to Damien Linson
for the Chippewas (2-5, 1-3). Smith also ran for a score, but two of his
touchdowns came in the fourth quarter after Toledo took a 27-10 lead.
After Moore caught his touchdown pass from Gradkowski, Smith threw a 65-yard
TD pass to Linson to close Central Michigan to 10-7. Moore's punt return and
Gradkowski's TD run put the Rockets ahead 24-7.
Linson caught a 22-yard touchdown pass and Smith had a 2-yard TD run in the
fourth quarter.
