Final Stats

Toledo, OH - Toledo (4-2-1, 1-1-0 MAC) fell to Ohio (2-4-2, 2-1-2 MAC), 1-0, in Mid-American Conference action today at Anthony Wayne High School.

"They're a good, tough team," Toledo Head Coach Brad Evans said. "They had the better of the chances to score than we did, but I think we played hard and fought until the very end."

The first half was scoreless with Ohio recording six shots on goal while Toledo tallied two shots against the Bobcats.

The scoreless streak ended in the second half when OU's Danielle Young passed a ball from the sidelines to Lindsey Price, who found Natalie Grein in the box. Grein blasted a shot past UT goalkeeper Jen Whipple for the game-winning tally with 22:53 left in regulation.

Toledo had a couple of chances to tie the game late with its best opportunity coming from senior Robin Davidson who hit the crossbar with 8:43 left in the game.

Whipple ended the day with nine saves while Ohio's Michelle Meglaughlin recorded a pair of saves.

"They had more chances to score in the first half, but I think we outplayed them in the second half," Evans commented. "We would have liked to get at least one point out of this, but it just didn't work out that way."

Today's setback snapped Toledo's six-game home unbeaten streak, dating back to last season. The Rockets last home loss occurred on Oct. 12, 2003, when they were defeated 2-0 by Western Michigan.

Evans and the Rockets will return to action on Friday, Sept. 24 when they travel to Ypsilanti, MI to battle Eastern Michigan. The game is slated for 4:00 p.m.
