TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - William Bratton rushed for 81 yards and three touchdowns
to lead Toledo to a 38-21 win over UNLV on Saturday night.
Astin Martin added a 25-yard TD run and Keon Jackson returned an
interception 31 yards for a score for Rockets (3-1).
The Rebels (1-3) hurt themselves with a fumble, an interception and
12 penalties for 88 yards.
Toledo played most of the game on a short field, starting four of its five
scoring drives in UNLV territory. The Rockets' other scoring drive was a
12-play, 99-yard march in the first quarter, capped by Bratton's 1-yard TD run
for a 14-0 lead.
Bratton also had a 3-yard TD run in the first and a 1-yard TD run in the
third to make it 31-7.
Rocket quarterback Brian Jones was 11-of-20 passing for 116 yards, but hit 10 of his first 11 passes when the game was still on the line.
Joe Haro rushed 10 times for 108 yards and a touchdown, and Jason Thomas
completed 11 of 22 passes for 132 yards to lead UNLV. Kurt Nantkes went 8-of-16
for 138 with a touchdown and an interception.
Michael Johnson caught nine passes for 109 yards for the Rebels.
