Recap | Final Stats | Notes

Toledo Head Coach Tom Amstutz:

"It was a good win for our program. The first half we played at a high level and we were clicking on both sides of the ball."

"We played a little bit of different style in the second half and we wanted to keep moving the chains in the second half to keep the clock running."

"We wanted to get back on track with a win tonight after losing a hard-fought game to Minnesota last week. We're focused each week on adding a win to our record."

"You have to run the ball to win because it puts extra stress on the defense having to defend the whole field."

"Our defensive line gave a great effort tonight. They really stepped forward and they are starting to improve. We need to get some heat on the quarterback, we were able to do that with their play and by blitzing more."

UNLV Head Coach John Robinson:

"This is a low point for us. I am as embarrassed and disappointed as I have been in my coaching career. Our football team is not focused We're not competing. We're not playing as aggressive as we should. We seem to be standing around and waiting for things to happen."

"I thing we're fortunate we have two weeks until our next game. We need to start over and rebuild this football team. If we don't get the attention and focus we need, we will start looking ahead to next year."

Senior LB Tom Ward:

"The defensive line had a great night. Guys like Chaz Williams and Frank Ofili went after the quarterback and that's why we won. We attacked this week, and that's something we didn't do last week. We won the battle up front and that's how you win a football game."

Senior RB William Bratton

(on 8 TDs this season) "I don't keep track of success. I play to have fun and to make sure everyone else is having fun too."

"The offensive line does a great job every week. They execute every play and take advantage of the game."

Senior OL Noah Swartz:

"We (offensive line) have room for improvement but we did pretty well tonight."

"We work on each others' mistakes, we communicate really well and communication is good on a football team."

"We (offensive line) love to open holes for any back, but Will (Bratton) makes it easy."

"Our offensive line loves Will and the other running backs, so we try to do our best to give them holes to run through."

Senior QB Brian Jones:

"It is great to get another victory especially here at home in front of our fans. It is a great way to show them we appreciate their support."

"The offensive line did a great job tonight of protecting me and giving me time to look downfield."

Sophomore DB Keon Jackson:

"I was just fortunate to be in the right place at the right time tonight."

"Whether I am at safety or defensive back I give 100 percent at either position."

"Give credit to the defensive line with the interception, they forced it and I was just there to catch it."
