Final Stats

TOLEDO, OH - In a battle for first-place in the Mid-American Conference Friday afternoon at Carter Field, the University of Toledo women's soccer team fell to Western Michigan, 1-0. With the setback, the Rockets fall to 3-3-1 (2-2-1 MAC), while the Broncos improve to 5-3-0 (3-0-0 MAC).

"Today, we weren't able to create any offense," Toledo head coach Brad Evans said. "Western was a much more talented squad than us, especially in the midfield."

WMU scored the game's lone goal in the first half on a tally by Jennifer Leone. Leone took a pass from the midfield and dribbled down the right sidelines and attempted to make a cross into the middle of the penalty box. The ball curled behind UT's goalkeeper Elise Donovan, who had come off her line, and fell into the back of the net at 30:32.

The Rockets returns to action on Sunday, as they travel to DeKalb, IL to battle the Huskies of Northern Illinois. Kick off is set for 1:00 p.m.
