Ignacio Guevel

Ignacio “Iggy” Guevel begins his first season on the University of Toledo women’s tennis coaching staff in the 2022-23 season. 

Guevel was a member of Norfolk State University's men's tennis team from 2019-21, and compiled a singles record of 27-20 mostly from the No. 6 court, and a doubles record of 21-30. He earned Second-Team All-MEAC honors and MEAC All-Tournament Team honors in 2021, posting an 8-4 singles record including a 7-0 mark on the No. 5 court. Gueval was a seven-time NSU Athletic Director’s Honor Roll selection and a three-time MEAC Tennis All-Academic team selection. His only loss in the last five matches of his freshman season came against South Carolina State in the 2017 MEAC Championship semifinals. Ended his junior season with three wins in four matches, scoring conference victories against Howard and Coppin State and blanked Bethune-Cookman’s Jonathon Thomas in the 2019 MEAC Tournament Championship quarterfinals, he clinched the win over North Carolina A&T at the No.5 singles court and No.1 doubles court in the 2021 MEAC Championship.

Guevel’s previous coaching experience includes both the Larchmont Yacht Club and Rye Raquet Club in New York. 

A Santiago del Estero, Argentina native, Guevel received a bachelor’s degree in business management with a minor in accounting from Norfolk State in 2021.
