Jessica Nei

Jessica Nei is in her third season as an asisstant coach for the University of Toledo women’s soccer program in 2017. Over that time, Nei has helped the program to a 27-22-1 overall record and a 8-13-1 record against Mid-American Conference opponents including a conference tournament appearence in 2015.

Nei works primarily with the defenders and goalkeepers.  Her primary responsibilities within the program include serving as the recruiting coordinator and camp director. She joined Toledo after serving as an assistant coach at Arkansas State for four seasons. 

While at ASU, Nei helped the RedWolves to some of the best goalkeeping in the Sun Belt Conference. The team ranked third in the Sun Belt Conference with 112 saves in 2013 and in 2012, the Arkansas State goalkeepers had a 1.38 goals against average, which was the second lowest average in school history.

Individually, Nei helped mentor Aja Aguirre into one of the most successful goalkeepers in Arkansas State history. Aguirre is tied for the fifth on the all-time list for the fewest goals allowed in a season and holds the record for the lowest goals against average at 1.19, which she set in 2012.
 
In 2013, Nei coached Amanda Lee to the third most saves in school history with 92, and the third lowest goals against average at 1.34. Her 8.07 saves per match were tied for the most in school history.

Before joining the Red Wolves, Nei spent  three years at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, MN. During her three seasons with St. Cloud she helped them to a 28-21-8 record including two seasons with 10-wins and the first winning conference record in school history and the first winning record in school history.

Along with serving as an assistant with St. Cloud, Nei was an Olympic Development Program coach instructing the 97-99 boys and goalkeepers. She was also a coach at Becker Youth soccer working with U10 boys, U14 and U17 girls.
Nei also worked with the Red River Soccer Club coaching U-10 boy’s and as a goalkeeper coach for U-10 girl’s and as the head coach for the Central Minnesota Youth Soccer Association in St. Cloud.

Nei was a at goalkeeper for North Dakota State University (2003-2007) and helped the Bison amass a 46-22-5 overall record. She currently sits third in school history in career GAA (0.99), sixth in save percentage (.787), tied for seventh in shutouts (7) and eighth in victories (10) and goalie minutes played (1,183).

Nei earned a bachelor’s degree with a double major in physical education and health education from NDSU in 2008.
