Steve McCollom is in his second season as a graduate assistant coach for UT. He will work primarily with the defense.
Prior to joining the Rockets, McCollom was a graduate assistant at Wayne State from 2013-14.
A native of Farmington, MI, McCollom graduated from Royal Oak Shrine High School. He played collegiately at Northwood (MI) as a quarterback for one season. He transferred to Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he played safety and back-up quarterback on Division III national championship teams in 2009 and 2010. He had an interception, fumble recovery and forced fumble in the 2010 national championship game. He served as a student assistant coach on Whitewater’s 2011 national championship team, then returned as a player for his senior season in 2012.
McCollom earned his bachelor’s degree from Whitewater in 2013.
