2022 (Virginia Tech)
Made eight relief appearances...Registered a 5.06 ERA, allowing three runs (three earned) across five and one-third innings pitched....Scattered five hits, holding opponents to a .238 batting average...Recorded nine strikeouts while issuing five walks… Collected three outs from four batters faced, posting two strikeouts during No. 4 Virginia Tech’s 24-4 win against Columbia in NCAA Regional play.

2021 (Virginia Tech)
 Made nine relief appearances, tossing 4.1 innings...Struck out all three batters faced during a scoreless inning against Notre Dame (May 20)...Threw a scoreless inning against East Tennessee State (April 27)...Recorded two strikeouts and completed a scoreless inning during his season debut against Radford (Feb. 23).

High School
Earned three varsity letters playing for coach Peter Susi at Downingtown East...Was a three-year varsity starter and was the team's captain as a senior...In 2018, was 4-1 with a 1.33 ERA, striking out 42 batters in 31.2 innings pitched...Also lettered three years on the Cougars' basketball team for coach John Goodman and captained the team as a senior.

Parents are Max and Julie Umberger...Has an older sister, Chase...Mother played field hockey at Penn State, playing in four NCAA tournaments and winning back-to-back A-10 regular season and tournament titles...Father played basketball at Gettysburg College...Sister was on the swim team at Connecticut...Majoring in university studies.
