Toledo registers eight-shot improvement from Round 1 to Round 2
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Toledo women's golf team registered an eight-shot improvement from the first to second round on Saturday and sits in 11th place at Notre Dame's Fighting Irish Classic. Junior Rachel Mackinlay is tied for 32nd place and leading the Rockets at 9-over par on the par-71, 6,062-yard Warren Golf Course.
MacKinlay and senior Aine Martin paced UT in the morning with 4-over par 75s. Mackinlay played her final eight holes at 1-over par, while Martin was even-par over her final eight holes.
Junior Clare Yeazell shot the Rockets' best round of the day with a 1-over 72 in the afternoon, including an eagle on the par-5, 495-yard fifth hole. She was at 1-under par through 13 holes before closing out her round with a double-bogey and four pars.
The third and final round of the tournament will begin tomorrow morning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
