Sophomore registers best two rounds of collegiate career; Aine Martin shoots career-low even-par 71

WICHITA, Kan. – Senior Áine Martin and sophomore Alice Tonts each shot their best rounds of their collegiate careers on Monday to lead the Toledo women's golf team at the University of Oklahoma Intercollegiate. The Rockets shot 6-over par as a team this morning and 13-over in the afternoon at the par-71, 6,127-yard Wichita Country Club.

Tonts is leading Toledo through 36 holes at 3-over par after registering her best two rounds as a Rocket. She opened the day with a 1-over 72 and followed it with a 2-over 73. After bogeying her first two holes of Round 2, Tonts registered 16 straight pars.

Martin carded a collegiate-best even-par 71 this morning and is tied with junior Clare Yeazell in the individual standings at 5-over par. Martin birdied three of her final four holes to get back to even-par this morning.

The host Sooners are in first place at 7-under par after shooting a 13-under par 271 this afternoon. Sam Houston State's Isabelle Hurrion and Oklahoma's Nancy Cox are tied for the individual lead at 5-under par

The third and final round is scheduled to begin tomorrow morning with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
