Junior Valeria Lizcano ties for 12th place to lead Rockets

SYLVANIA, Ohio – Junior Valeria Lizcano carded a two-over par 73 to lead the Toledo women's golf team in Tuesday's final round of the Rocket Classic at Highland Meadows Golf Club. Lizcano finished the tournament tied for 12^th place at 17-over par.

Senior Aine Martin competed as an individual and tied for a career-best seventh place at 15-over par.

Central Michigan captured the seven-team tournament title with a 51-over par 903, seven shots in front of second-place Oakland.

Ohio State individual Amalie Turner and the Chippewas' Mya Morgan tied for first place individually at 10-over par, with Turner capturing the title in a playoff.

Toledo will return to action on Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 26-27 when it travels to South Bend, Ind. for Notre Dame's Fighting Irish Classic.
