Toledo Drops Series Opener to Buffalo

Payton Pudlowski and Eli Enriquez turn in multi-hit outings on Friday
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo softball team fell to Buffalo, 9-2, in the series opener on Friday afternoon at Scott Park.
Eli Enriquez and Payton Pudlowski each went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Rockets' offense. Enriquez also extended her on-base streak to 26 games. Junior Jenna Bloomfield blasted a two-run home run in the second inning for her second long ball of the season.
Katie McDonald (9-10) started and picked up the loss in the circle after tossing 3.1 innings. Redshirt freshman Reese Poston appeared in relief, throwing two scoreless innings and allowing just one hit.

Toledo and Buffalo will conclude the series tomorrow with a doubleheader at Scott Park. Prior to the 1:00 p.m. start, the Rockets will celebrate four seniors with a senior day ceremony at 12:45 p.m.
