Rockets Finish Weekend Competition at SIRA Regatta in Tennessee

Varsity 8+ clocks a time of 7:15.627 in second spring regatta of the season
OAK RIDGE, Tenn. - The Toledo women's rowing team competed in its second spring regatta at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association (SIRA) Regatta in Oak Ridge, Tenn. on Saturday and Sunday.
The Rockets competed with an 8+ varsity boat and a 4+ novice boat against teams from throughout the southern portion of the country, including Texas, TCU, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Baylor, Georgia Tech, Clemson and Virginia Tech.
Toledo's Varsity 8+ boat of recorded a time of 7:17.655 in the semifinals on Saturday and then improved that to 7:15.627 in the finals on Sunday. The Rockets' Novice 4+ boat came in at 8:40.384 on Sunday.

"The team had some very positive moments and some that reminded us that we are still in our infancy," said Head Coach Chris Bailey-Greene. "The best part was that we raced like we belonged, found our ceilings, acted like students between races, and learned a lot. We are proud of the team for all they accomplished and onto the next one."
Toledo's next regatta will be at Eastern Michigan on Saturday, April 25.
