Hanamichi Carvajal earns win over MAC opponent on the No. 1 court
TOLEDO, Ohio / ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Toledo men's tennis team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday. The Rockets fell in their final Mid-American Conference match to Buffalo, 5-2, before dropping a 4-0 decision to Michigan.
Prior to the Buffalo match, Toledo celebrated its five graduating seniors – Lucas Britez, Hanamichi Carvajal, Alejandro Gonzalez, Joshua Mackey and Matias Olivero.
In the matchup with the Bulls, Carvajal earned the only point in singles play with a three-set 7-5, 5-7, 6-2 win on the No. 1 court. The Rockets also won the doubles point after Britez and Carvajal tallied a 6-4 win on the No. 2 court and Mackey and Olivero posted a 6-2 win on the No. 3 court.
In the nightcap against #46 Michigan, the Wolverines won the doubles point and three singles courts. On the No. 1 court, Carvajal won a set against the #65-ranked singles player in the country Bjorn Swenson. Charlie Snow also took a set on the No. 4 court before both matches went unfinished.
