Toledo to Host Buffalo Friday on Senior Night

Rockets and Bulls to tip off at 7:00 p.m. on Craft Beer Night in Savage Arena
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo men's basketball team (16-14, 10-7 MAC) closes out its regular season on Friday, March 6 when it hosts Buffalo (17-13, 7-10 MAC) in Savage Arena. The contest will tip off at 7:00 p.m. with streaming on ESPN+. A post-game Senior Night ceremony will follow the contest.
The Rockets have already secured the No. 4 seed in next week's MAC Tournament, marking the sixth-straight season that UT has been a Top Four seed. Toledo will face either Ohio (15-15, 9-8 MAC) or Bowling Green (17-13, 8-9 MAC) in the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 12.
The Bulls have yet to clinch a spot in the tournament and lead Ball State (11-19, 6-11) and Central Michigan (10-20, 6-11) by a game in the conference standings.
Toledo nearly handed No. 19 Miami its first loss of the season on Tuesday night in its last outing but fell just short in a tightly-contested 74–72 decision to the RedHawks. The Rockets had a chance to tie the game on its final possession after Miami's Brant Byers missed the front end of a one-and-one with 12.3 seconds left but were unable to get a shot off.
Leroy Blyden Jr. led UT with a game-high 21 points and four steals for his team-high 10th 20-point outing of the season. Sonny Wilson tallied 13 points, a team-best six assists and three thefts. Mynor Strong also was in double digits, finishing with 10 points.
The Rockets are led by the backcourt duo of Wilson (17.2 ppg) and Blyden (16.1 ppg) along with the frontcourt tandem of Sean Craig (11.6 ppg) and Austin Parks (11.0 ppg). Blyden leads all MAC freshmen in scoring, while Wilson is dishing out a team-high 4.5 apg.
Buffalo is on its way to its first winning season in four years and is 8-5 in road contests. Sophomore Daniel Freitag leads the Bulls with 19.8 ppg but has missed six of their last seven contests due to injury. Junior Ryan Sabol and graduate student Angelo Brizzi are also averaging in double digits with 18.4 ppg and 14.2 ppg, respectively.
