Senior Bence Kotel paces Rockets in final round with even-par 72
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Senior Bence Kotel shot an even-par 72 in Tuesday's final round to lead the Toledo men's golf team to an eighth-place showing at Stetson's Sam Ryder Intercollegiate. The Rockets shot a 31-over par 895 in their first tournament of the spring at the par-72, 6,984-yard Hills course at LPGA International.
Kotel tied for 25th place in the individual standings at five-over par, and sophomore Bence Bertenyi tied for 28th place at six-over par. Senior Mason Deal tied for 30th place for the Rockets at seven-over par.
Stetson captured the tournament title at 13-under par, with the Hatters' Matthis Lefevre earning medalist honors with a six-under par 210.
The Rockets will return to action on Monday-Wednesday, March 16-18 when it travels to California for the Pauma Valley Invitational.
