ZIONSVILLE, Ind. – Senior Bence Kotel led Toledo in Sunday's opening round of the 2026 Mid-American Conference Men's Golf Championships. The tournament is being hosted by Central Michigan at the par-71, 7,349-yard Holliday Farms Golf Club.
Kotel shot a five-over-par 76 and opened his day with two birdies en route to a one-over-par 37 on the front nine. He was at two-over par through 14 holes before notching three bogeys in his final four holes.

 Eastern Michigan holds the first-round lead at four-over par, eight strokes in front of Miami and nine ahead of Northern Illinois. Central Michigan and Kent State round out the top five at 16-over and 20-over par, respectively.
The Huskies' Patrick Raupp leads all individuals at two-under par. The Eagles' Joshua Hess and Rory McDonald-O'Brien are tied for second place along with the RedHawks' Liam Nelson at one-under par.
The Rockets are scheduled to tee off at 9:00 a.m. off the No. 10 tee in Monday's second round. The third and final round will be held on Tuesday.
