Three Rockets earn singles wins against the Mocs
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Toledo men's tennis team fell in a close battle, 4-3, that came down to the final singles court in Chattanooga, Tenn. on Thursday afternoon.
After the Mocs tallied wins on the No. 2 and 4 singles courts to take a 3-2 lead, senior Matias Olivero won a three-set contest on the No. 5 singles court to even the match. The contest concluded as junior Poonthong Komolpisut fell in a hard-fought three-set matchup on the No. 1 singles court.
Freshman Pannawat Suttisomboon picked up his second consecutive singles win with a straight-set victory on the No. 6 court. Junior Cole Cozens fired off a 6-4, 6-1 win, marking his eighth win in the last nine contests.
Chattanooga earned the doubles point to take an early advantage after grabbing wins on the No. 2 and 3 doubles courts.
