Sophomore shoots pair of one-under 70s in Rockets' first tournament of spring
LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – Sophomore Brooklyn Millard shot a pair of one-under par 70s on Tuesday to lead the Toledo women's golf team on the first day of the BGSU Women's Intercollegiate. Millard is tied for second place at two-under par 140, while the Rockets are tied for seventh place in the team standings at the par-71, 6,000-yard Wigwam Resort course.
Millard is tied for the tournament lead with 11 birdies in Toledo's first tournament this spring. She started and ended Round One this morning with birdies on two of her first three holes as well as two of her last three holes. Millard then birdied five of her first seven holes at the start of Round Two en route to her second straight 70.
Sophomore Rachel Macklinlay is tied for 25th place at five-over par 147 (72-75), while freshman Alice Tonts is tied for 37th place at 10-over par 152 (77-75).
The Rockets' tee times for tomorrow's third and final round will begin at 12:20 p.m. EST.
