Toledo goes 4-2 in MAC Tournament to finish season at 32-29
AVON, Ohio – The Toledo baseball team's run in the 2025 MAC Tournament ended in the Championship Game in a 6-3 defeat to No. 1 seed Miami at Crushers Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Â
Playing in their first title game since 2009, the Rockets (32-29) fell after the RedHawks (35-21) scored four runs across the first three innings and tacked on one more each in the seventh and eighth.
Â
The Rockets finished with a 4-2 record in its run in Avon, marking the most wins in the tournament in program history. Sunday's championship contest marked Toledo's fourth-straight elimination game of the tournament. From April 11 until now, Toledo finished with a 16-5 record against MAC opponents.
Â
Following the game, outfielders Caden Konczak and Luke Leto and right-handed pitcher Ryan Kennedy were named to the MAC All-Tournament Team for the first time in their careers.
Â
Quoting Head Coach Rob Reinstetle
"We played our hearts out this week and made a heck of a run. Today we just ran out of gas. I can't say enough about how this group competed and in my opinion, became the best team in the MAC at the end of the season. This senior class did so much to move the program forward. We return the bulk of the best pitching staff in the MAC and a solid nucleus of position players. It hurts to lose, but there's so much to be proud of and the future is very bright here."
