Rockets Host Eastern Michigan, Travel to Bowling Green This Weekend

Toledo competes in final installment of Battle of I-75 on Sunday
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo women's tennis team will compete in Mid-American Conference matchups against Eastern Michigan and Bowling Green this weekend. The Rockets will host the Eagles on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at either Twos Tennis Club (indoor) or UT Varsity Tennis Court (outdoor). Toledo will then head to Bowling Green for the final installment of the Battle of I-75 on Sunday, April 6 at 1:00 p.m.
ABOUT THE ROCKETS
Toledo owns an overall record of 9-6 (2-3 MAC) after falling to Northern Illinois and Western Michigan, 4-3, last weekend. Toledo is third in the MAC East Division, just one match outside of a MAC Tournament position. Freshman Jacklynka Scholten moved to 12-0 in singles play and 4-0 in MAC play after winning in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, on the No. 2 court against NIU's Irmak Budak. Audrey Moutama, Gaby Rondon and Annika Munson all earned three-set singles wins against Western Michigan.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Eastern Michigan enters the match with a 9-9 (2-3 MAC) record. The Eagles went 1-1 last weekend, beating Western Michigan, 6-1, and falling to Miami, 4-3. The Rockets and the Eagles last met on April 26, 2024 with Toledo grabbing a 4-2 win in the MAC Tournament Semifinals.
Bowling Green sits at 9-9 (0-5 MAC) after dropping matches to Miami, 7-0, and Buffalo, 5-2, last weekend. Bowling Green will host Northern Illinois on Friday before the rivalry match on Sunday. Toledo earned a 7-0 sweep in the first matchup this season on March 23.
