TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo softball team split a pair of games with Central Michigan in a midweek matchup at Scott Park on Tuesday afternoon. The Rockets picked up a 7-3 win in the first game and fell 10-3 in the second matchup.
In game one, Toledo (13-24, 6-10) had 13 hits, including seven doubles, which is the second-most doubles in a single game in program history and just one shy of the program record of eight. Four Rockets recorded multi-hit games, led by
Maris Barbato who tied her season-high with three hits.
Sophia Knight went the distance, throwing her second-consecutive complete game and seventh of the season.
In game two, CMU scored seven runs in the sixth inning to blow open a close game.
Samantha Bolding hit a three-run shot to right in the sixth inning to put Toledo on the board. Bolding owns a team-high eight home runs on the season.
Mady Yackee had a strong effort in relief, giving up one earned run while recording three strikeouts in three innings.

How It Happened
Game 1
- Central Michigan took an early 1-0 lead with a solo home run in the first.
- Toledo tied the contest in the bottom of the first with an RBI single from Kendra VanderLugt.
- The Rockets took a 3-0 lead in the second and never looked back. Madison McKay and Sidney Griffith tallied RBIs in the second while the team added a pair of runs in the third and fourth innings, respectively.
- The Chippewas scored two runs in the top of the fifth but were unable to get any closer.
Game 2
- CMU scored first with an RBI single in the first, 1-0. The Chippewas went ahead, 2-0, after scoring on a wild pitch in the third.
- Central Michigan plated seven runs in the top of the sixth to take a 9-0 lead.
- Samantha Bolding blasted a three-run shot to right field in the bottom of the six to put Toledo on the board, 9-3.

Toledo will head to Buffalo, N.Y. for a three-game series this weekend. The Rockets and Bulls will meet in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 19 beginning at 1:00 p.m.
